Life Expectancy Higher For Married Men Being Shot At?

Amazing. Apparently this guy’s wedding ring saved his life.

ABC News has picked up a story of a guy who deflected a bullet with his wedding ring. For those of you who are married, thank your wives for making you spend the time to pick out a wedding ring. For those soon-to-be…maybe titanium is the way to go?

The engineer in me wanted to calculate the odds of this bullet hitting his wedding ring (some things just can’t be helped). If you take a 9mm (.355″) bullet and figure the gun might be angled anywhere between +/- 10 degrees and he is standing 3 feet away with a ring of 0.25″ x 1″: you would get a 0.355% chance of some part of the bullet hitting some part of his ring.

Can Reformed Christians calculate odds?
